Dr Zubin Medora

ZubinFirdos Medora is a doctor with a special interest in aesthetic medicine, cosmetic surgery and practical dermatology, based in Singapore.

Medora studied at Bristol University, where he earned a distinction in Physiology. He then undertook training in Clinical Medicine at the Guy’s & St Thomas’s Hospitals in London. During this time, he was sent on an exchange scholarship to Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

In 1998, Medora returned to Singapore to work and was admitted into the Basic Specialist (Surgery) Training Program under the Ministry of Health. During his training, Medora attained Memberships of both the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow. He then completed a Masters in Medicine (Surgery) at the National University of Singapore. Medora wasappointed as a Tutor by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and was part of the teaching faculty for aspiring surgical candidates.

Soon after, Medora went to England where he studied Cosmetic Surgery. He began workingwith Labros Chatzis and Dev Roy at the Cambridge Private Hospital. Medora also qualified with a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from the University of Cardiff. After completing his training in England, Medora studied Asian Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.Medora was also admitted as a Surgical Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery.

In 2005 he began working at a Singapore clinic together with plastic surgeon R Sundarason, a co-founder of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons. Sundarason mentored Medora and led almost all the aesthetic surgeries with Medora until his passing in 2017. Although not a plastic surgeon himself, Medora counts Sundarason as one of the few decent doctors who taught him to always lend a helping hand to all fellow doctors, regardless of their background, discipline or speciality.

In the midst of his career, Medora felt spiritually lost. He later referred to this period as life changing, as it taught him the need for God in his life. Born a Zoroastrian Parsi, Medora says he was touched by the Holy Spirit and subsequently received Christ in 2009. He then went on to complete a Masters in Theology at Oral Roberts University(USA), where he graduated with an equivalent of First Class Honours. Medora was ordained as an Assistant Pastor in 2017 and is part of the leadership of Bethany Church (Singapore) until today. Medora is involved in numerous non-profit projects and mission trips to Indonesia, Philippines and Cambodia.

Medora has always opened his doors to doctors from around the world who want to observe his techniques and methods, particularly in the field of functional procedures and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. Doctorsfrom USA, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and Singapore have visited Medora,beginning as observersin his operating room and ending up as patients themselves. Medora counts such experiences both a blessing and a privilege.

Medora is an avid snowboarder and has been involved in mountain rescues in the Austrian Alps. He was a skier since medical school days, but converted to snowboarding late in life believing it to be a much safer sport. Since then, he has torn his medial collateral knee ligament and forearm muscles as well. Medora plans to return to skiing in his later years.
